The Revanth Reddy government is charting an ambitious roadmap to transform Hyderabad into a global metropolis with its Master Plan-2050, designed to meet the city's evolving needs over the next 25 years. As the administration marks its first year in power on December 7, significant development projects have been announced to address urban challenges and propel Hyderabad into a future-ready city.
Key Infrastructure Projects
Elevated Corridors:
Rajiv Road: Elevated corridor construction with an investment of ₹2,232 crore.
Nagpur Highway: Double-decker elevated corridor worth ₹1,580 crore to alleviate traffic congestion.
Skywalk at Mehdipatnam: Secured Defense Department approval, marking a milestone achievement.
Metro Expansion:
₹24,237 crore allocated for the second phase of metro works.
Detailed Project Report (DPR) submitted to the central government, with work expected to commence soon.
Regional Ring Road (RRR):
A ₹18,000 crore project to improve connectivity around the city.
City Infrastructure Upgrades:
₹8,996 crore allocated for road construction under GHMC.
₹596 crore for floodwater canals and underground wells to address waterlogging.
₹826 crore for junction improvements around KBR Park.
₹360 crore for a four-lane flyover at Miralam Pond.
Future City Development
The government plans to establish a Future City spanning 30,000 acres. This hub will include:
AI City
Pharma City
Centers for life sciences, healthcare, and advanced technology industries.
Additionally, the foundation has been laid for Young India Skills University, with plans to build a sports university soon.
Environmental Revival Efforts
HYDRA Initiative: Dedicated to preserving ponds, canals, and government properties in the metropolitan area.
Musi River Revival: Efforts are underway to restore Musi River, turning it into a prominent city attraction.
Reservoir Restoration: Reviving Himayatsagar and Osmansagar to their historical significance.
Sewage Treatment: Establishing 39 new STPs to ensure Musi remains free of sewage.
Water and Heritage Projects
Plans to channel 20 TMC of water from Ellampalli to meet Hyderabad's growing drinking water needs.
Beautification of Bapughat and establishment of a Gandhi Ideology Center to preserve and promote historical values.
